This is a project in development. I'd like to do something based on Cory Doctorow's book, Little Brother, with High School aged students. The idea would be to read and discuss the text (available for free on-line). Students would then research local societal issues and technology tools. The last part of the project would be to create some type of media that depicts them solving the societal issue using the technology tool they found. The media could be art, music, literature, multi-media, or whatever they feel comfortable creating. Throughout the process, students would have active discussions about what they are discovering in the book, about their home areas, and new technological tools. Rubrics would be provided. Would love to collaborate with several classes to get aspects of different cultures.
